Anne Krickhuhn, age 97, passed away peacefully on December 27th, 2024.
Born July 26, 1927 in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago, she was the only child of Otto and Greta (nee Schaulmann) Krickhuhn.
Anne attended Luther Institute High School and lived most of her life on the Northwest side of Chicago before moving to the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights.
She began her career with Sears, before moving on to 33 years at Continental Bank.
A dedicated Missouri Synod Lutheran, she was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and then Messiah Lutheran and was very involved at various levels with the Walther League.
Anne was one of the Walther League members who started our Walcamp Ministry. Anne and a group of young Lutherans raised funds for the downpayment and located and secured the property. Anne continued her support of Walcamp through the Walcamp Auxiliary. The Auxiliary helped finance many of the buildings here at Walcamp and other areas of our ministry. To this day, our kitchen team appreciates Anne's gifts. Walcamp truly is the place it is because of Anne's dedication to our ministry; "Well done, good and faithful servant."
