2020 Summer Programs

Yes! We are still planning on providing our Summer Camp Ministry 2020, and what a great summer it is going to be.

Our Day Camp programs are open!

We anticipate opening our Sleep Away options in July, following guidlines from the Illinois Dept. of Health.
Our priority is for the safety of each camper.

A great value for your summer daycare needs-- Canoe on a lake, hike in the woods, wade in a river, and still be home by dinner! It’s day camp at a real camp. Programs run from 8 am to 5 pm. Campers enjoy lunch in our dining hall and afternoon snacks at our camp store (included in price). Sign up for a day, a week, or the entire summer!

Day Camp - Ages 6-12
Cost $175/Week ($35/Day)

Discover camp at its best! Your child will join in our all-time favorite camp activities. Canoe, swim, hike, play games, build craft projects, shoot archery, roast s’mores, explore God’s creation and learn about the love of Jesus in fun new ways!

Choose between a two-night adventure - ideal for first-time campers - or a five-night adventure for campers ready to stay the full week.

Discovery Camp - Ages 6-9
Cost $200 (Sunday-Tuesday) or $450 (Sunday-Friday)
Week 6 - July 12-14 (can extend to June 17)

Integrate “plugged-in” video games and “unplugged” camp adventures through team play and friendly competition.

Sleep all day and stay out all night as you experience the life of night-time animals. Learn about the stars and God’s creativity and experience a week of adventures with a fun camp twist!

Owl Night Camp - Ages 10-14
Cost $480
Week 7 - July 19-24

Following current health advisories, we are trading out our field trips for on-site activities this summer.

Paintball Camp

Play. Strategize. Win! Compete in a week of Paintball games and challenges while learning about the teamwork and strategy that goes into the game. Spend time on each of Walcamp's paintball courses using the terrain to your advantage, then take a break and enjoy the other activities that camp offers. Armor not included.

Paint and equipment is provided.
This summer, campers are asked to purchase their own mask (provided by Walcamp).

Paintball Camp - Ages 12-14

Teen Leaders enjoy a week of spiritual growth and leadership development similar to the training provided to our summer staff. Receive tips for working with groups of youth, peers and other team members. Teens who complete this program are eligible to return to camp as Jr Counselors.

Summer Program Summary

Walcamp offers a fun, safe environment for youth and persons of all ages to build relationships with God and with others, to experience nature and to grow as an individual and as part of a community.

Experience the best of camp through games, archery, crafts, songs, swimming and more. Activities meet or exceed the safety standards outlined by the American Camping Association (ACA) and are supervised by trained staff members.

Make new friends, try new activities and challenge yourself physically, mentally and spiritually. Camp provides a safe place to ask questions and to explore truths seen in Creation and in the Bible.

Live in community with others, demonstrate teamwork and find opportunities to put your faith into action.



As the landscape is ever-changing in regards to the COVID-19 pandemic the FAQ below may be modified as time goes on.  Please check back often as things may change.


Unfortunately Summer Overnight Camps for 2020 are canceled.  Please keep updated for other opportunities during the year!

Covid-19 Safety Overview

At Walcamp we place the highest priority on the health and safety of our campers and staff.  We constantly are in touch with the local and state health departments and exceed their minimum requirements for have a safe camp environment in the midst of the pandemic.  If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Bill our Executive Director at or 815-784-5141 x 111.  Below is an overview of the safety precautions that we have in place.  

Our Overnight Camp will follow all recommendations of the CDC and ILDPH and DeKalb County Health Department.  This is a brief breakdown of our plans. The IDPH guidelines are not yet released, but we have anticipated the information below and built our program around it's safety guidelines.  A full handbook will be available very soon.  Our Executive Director Bill,  has been in touch with the DeKalb County Health Department and Bill also sits on the Government Relations Committee at the ACA.

  • All campers will be broken down into small group we are calling pods.
  • Each pod will have their own dedicated leaders that will be consistent during the week.
  • Each pod will have their own "home base" with their own bathroom facilities.  All facilities will be disinfected frequently during the day per guideline.  
  • Each Pod will travel and do activities together.
  • Extra attention will be made to not mix pods.
  • Lunch will be served with disposables, sack lunches, cookouts and social distanced meals in the dining hall.    
  • Between each pod's visit to the dining hall for lunch, the serving area will be disinfected per CDC guidelines.
  • If Camp is canceled all fees will be refundable.
